Grounding the shield

I have a shielded cable that passes to my controller via multiple junction boxes. Should I ground my shield at each splice in the juction box or should my shield be continuous and be grounded only at the controller?

Ground at one end only.

If you ground at multiple locations and there are potential differences between those pointa, then currents will be induced into the shield.

That can then induce voltages and noise  into the conductors protected by the shield.
