DAQCard6024E - Win7 - Card recognised as "Unknown"

Hi there,

Bonjour,

We have (finally) updated our computers from XP to Win 7 32bits.

Nous avons finalement migré de Win XP vers Win 7 32 Bits dans ma société.

I've installed the "NIDAQ980f0.exe" driver, successfuly, when I've plugged my card on the computer for the first time, Wondow have detected it and saying something like "your H/W is now ready to use".

J'ai installé la suite de pilotes "NIDAQ980f0.exe" avec succes, Win 7 a reconnu la carte lorsque je l'ai branchée la première fois aprés l'insallation, message reçu :  "your H/W is now ready to use".

But When I want to measure, my (inhouse) program doesn't find the drivers(?) and when I look in Computer management, the card is detected as unknown (see picture)

Mais quand je veux mesurer avec mon programme (interne) il y a un problème de driver, et quand je regarde dans computer management la carte est détectée comme "unknown" (voir capture d'écran)

Computer is a Panasonic CF-52, Core i5, Win 7 32 Bits.

Thanks your your support.

Merci de votre support.

Hello Pol,

Am I correct to assume that you are using the PCMCIA version of the DAQCard-6024E?

Are you using any adapter for the PCMCIA card at your side?

Did you use exactly the same laptop earlier on?

Are you using the most recent version of your laptop's BIOS?

Hi Thierry

Thanks for the reply !

Nope I do not have any news so far !

So, yes it is  a PCMCIA DAQCard-6024E

I am not using any adaptater, the DaqCard directly in the PCMCIA Slot of the computer

Those (I actually have 3 ) are actually brand new laptops with Win 7 32 Bits, so I guess My ICT dpt have installed the most recent vesion of the bios (?)

Thanks for your reply !

Hello Pol,

So those were my general questions to get an overview.. 🙂

Could it be that the DAQCard was inserted before you installed the DAQmx driver and rebooted the laptops.

Seeing that it is currently considered to be unknown. one thing you should for sure try is the following:

- Open Device Manager, right click on the device, and choose Properties.

- Choose the Driver tab and click on Update Driver.

- Choose Next to upgrade the device driver. Then click Next with "Search for a suitable driver for my device" selected.

Does this allow you to find and assign/install the appropriate driver?

If this does not fix the issue, can you then sen me MAX Report of your system?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Thierry, See my answears in pink

Could it be that the DAQCard was inserted before you installed the DAQmx driver and rebooted the laptops.

Nope, I plugged it after computer reboot

Seeing that it is currently considered to be unknown. one thing you should for sure try is the following:

- Open Device Manager, right click on the device, and choose Properties.

- Choose the Driver tab and click on Update Driver.

- Choose Next to upgrade the device driver. Then click Next with "Search for a suitable driver for my device" selected.

Done, it say drivers are up to date, there is no available drivers for your device.

I have to report, how do I send it to you ?

thanks

Hmm,

It seems like you can see it (partially) from inside NI MAX.

Can you use the Test Panels on it from inside NI MAX?

Hi Thierry,

Yes, Test Panel is working, and DAQ is detected in NIMAX, (F5).

Hello Pol,

The fact that you see it in NI MAX and can measure from inside NI MAX, but do not get it correctly in the Device Manager is kind of unusual.

Something I haven't yet gone into.

Earlier on you mentioned

"But When I want to measure, my (inhouse) program doesn't find the drivers(?) and when I look in Computer management, the card is detected as unknown (see picture)"

Can you elaborate a bit more about what this inhouse program consists of?

When was it made?

With which software (LabVIEW, CVI, ...) ?

Did you use NI-DAQmx at that moment or Traditional DAQ?

Kind Regards,
