Changing the IRQ for the NI DAQ PCI 6023E

In order to debug a driver problem, I need to change the IRQ used by the 6023E card from 17 to a number in the range that my motherboard will not claim (9-13). This is on a Linux machine, so I don't have the option to change it through the management software CD that came with the card. Is there something I can do in Linux about this issue?

Hello Omri,

I was performing such Google searches on resolving IRQ conflicts in the Linux operating system. The best information that I was able to find came from SCYLD Software at http://www.scyld.com/pci_irq.html. This page discusses resolving Linux PCI interrupt problems.

Another site I came across discusses arguments used to control the PCI bus in Linux: http://www.telenovela-world.com/~spade/linux/howto/BootPrompt-HOWTO-4.html

The last page that I can point you to was found on linuxquestions.org. It seems that assigning IRQs in Linux is not the easy of things, and seems to be more like trial and error. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?s=&forumid=18&threadid=189939. It is recommended here that you try and find a manual for the moth
erboard to see how IRQs are assigned with your particular system.
