Application program in DAQmx

HI,
I have a PXI-6071E, and I intend to use all 64 analog i/p channels in it. I will be connecting the sensor signal to all the 64 channels on my device.
I want the use labview program wherein the user selects which signals he is interested in viewing, and only the channels corresponding to the user choice should be displayed in the labview window(only interested channels need to be sampled, other channels need not be).
My questions are;
1. Can I have names given to channels ..like analoginput 0 as 'Voltage field sensor' while creating a task? I have not used NI DAQmx before...is there any links about how to configure tasks and use them?
2. Can I have different sampling rates for different analog ip channels, when I am
reading more than one analog input in my application?
Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for contacting National Instruments support.

To answer your questions, you can have multiple channels within a task, and each channel can have its own unique name. The easiest way to do this would be to use Measurment & Automation Explorer (MAX). There's a "Data Neighborhood" where you can setup all your channels and then add all your channels to your task. To find more information on this check out the DAQmx FAQ at http://www.ni.com/support/labview/nidaq7faq.htm.

There is only one clock on the DAQ board, so you cannot easily have different sampling rates for each analog input channel. It is possible to do this using the DAQ multirate scan functions. You can find more information about this in an example we have online at: http://sine.ni.c
