6036 differential output

Using a 6036 daqcard, is it possible to have differential outputs?  In other words, a 'floating' output voltage?  Are they differential by default?

MovieNiche,

Thanks for posting to the NI Forums.  The DAQCard 6036E only outputs ground reference voltages and does not output differentially.  In other words the voltage is reference to the AO GND pin which is tied to the computer ground.  Does your application call for a floating source?  Are you seeing strange behavior on the 6036.  Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Hi Neil ,

My application requires a differential square wave . What is the best solution to this ? (There are more than 40 Analog Inputs Required and a differrential Square wave Output from the Daq Unit .Suggest an optimum Solution.)

Hi kansal,

Do you have a form factor preference? PCI/PXI/USB? What is the amplitude and frequency of the required square wave? What is the amplitude and frequency of your analog inputs? How much resolution do you need?

I'll be happy to help you find a solution to meet your system requirements. If you would like to explore some of the options on your own make sure to visit our website at ni.com/products. You can search for hardware and filter by your specifications to find a configuration that will best meet your needs.

Is there a USB device that can output a differential pulse? Can this be done with two analog outputs and a virtual channel?

Hi Justin,

I noticed that you opened a service request with this same question - let's communicate through that to prevent repeat messages. Thanks!
