setup compactRio to drive a 90V brushed motor

Hello:

I am trying to use the CompactRio in some testing and need to control and drive a 90V brushed motor from McMaster. The system will have 1 or 2 limit switches.

link to motor: http://www.mcmaster.com/#6470k52/=tu211p

I was wondering if anyone had suggesstions for setup? I was thinking of using the NI 9514 but there are no NI I/O modules that can output the 90V to drive the motor.

Any input or suggesstions would be appreciated.

Hi tdra,

The 9514 is not supposed to be used to drive a motor but instead interface with the drive. You would first need a drive which would connect to your motor and then a connect the 9514 with your motor. NI does not currently have drives for brushed motors at the moment. So you can find a third party drive to interface with your motor and then connect that drive to the 9514.

Here is a setup of a system for a brushless motor, but your system should be similar:

@FuManWho

Great, that is what I was thinking for the setup but glad to hear it confirmed. Thanks Paolo!
