I'm trying to control a MFA-CC linear stage with the ESP300 motion controller using hyperterminal.
Using the following string of commands:
1MO //axis 1 is turned on
1VA1.0000 //axis one velocity is set to 1.000 mm/s
1PR20.0000 //axis one is commanded to move 20 mm relative to its current position
Results in the following error:
103, 2022943, AXIS-1 FOLLOWING ERROR THRESHOLD EXCEEDED |
I have used the exact same commands with the exact same linear stage on a different ESP300 with no problem.
Is the controller busted? Is there something else I can do?
Thank you!

Hi ymenguc,
This error can occur for many different reasons. One possible reason is reversed feedback wires. Check to make sure you made the same connections that worked with the original setup.
The link below describes this in a little more detail. It also explains a few other possible reasons for this error.

It is sufficient to increase the maximum following error to some very big value, 100 for example.
Got the same problem with ESP301. Using the Set Maximum Following Error Threshold VI from the
Newport library (Motion Device folder) withe the value of 100 resolved the issue.
