cable transducer celesco

Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone had some experience with measuring distance using a Cable transducer ( http://www.celesco.com/_datasheets/pt9510ex.pdf ).

I've got the NI9264 and the NI9205 modlues for Labview.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings

Hi Landerbrons!

I don't have any experience using a cable transducer, but I'll try to help as best I can.

From what I can see from the cable transducer, it only sends a given voltage from 0 to 10 volts depending on the cable length, but doesn't need to be driven by anything other than its power supply(?). I think you can just use either of your modules (seeing as they both have an input range of 0 to 10 volts) to measure the voltage. The NI 9205 module has much better accuracy than the other module, so I would have chosen that one.

You can't use NI 9264 as it only has analog outputs. But NI 9205 should definitely work 😉

I cannot believe I did not see that the NI 9264 has only analog outputs. Thanks for the input! (pun not intended)
