I am using an Allegro A4988 stepper driver chip Our application only required the use of three software driven inputs to this chip (STEP, DIRECTION, ENABLE). I would like to know how to utilize the trajectories genreated in SoftMotion to drive the chip with appropriately sequenced STEP requests and DIRECTION. Does anyone have an example VI that I could take a look at?

Hi Ppalmer,
We do have modules that will interface with third party stepper motors that are used in Softmotion. You can use that module and softmotion examples which can be found by opening LabVIEW, then going to Help>>Find Examples. In the following window navigate to Hardware Input and Output>>Motion Control>>NI Softmotion>>Device Specific>>NI 9512 and there should be an example for the stepper interface.
