Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to control a servo motor with PCI7356, UMI7774 and AKD servo drives (AKD-P00306). One of NI engineer suggested to use a example VI, "three-axis vector move with position monitor.vi". However, it does not work. The motor and AKD drive work well with Workbench. Any other VIs I can start with or suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Hi BasketSoccerBal
When you say it’s not working do you mean that it’s not moving your motors? Or is it throwing you errors? Also, have you set up your axes in MAX for the PCI-7356? How many axes are you planning on using? Have you been able to move the motors using the 2-D interactive in MAX?

Hi,
I am planning to use 6-axis total, so I have 1 PCI7356, 2 UMI7774 and 6 AKD drives. Now, only 3 axes are connected. I tried '1-D interactive' in MAX and AXIS 3 has a following error. There is no error in a sample VI, but AXIS 3 is not moved at all in LanbVIEW while AXIS 1 and 2 are working. Note that AXIS 3 is working properly in Workbench.

Just to clarify, only your 3rd axis is not behaving as expected while working with LabVIEW and the other two are? Have you verified the wiring and did you follow this to set up your hardware:

Additionally, have you verified that you have configured your axis correctly in NI-MAX?

Yes, I did set up as that manual. Any other configurations required in NI MAX more than as described in that manual?
One problem was the cable between UMI7774 and AKD drive. With a new cable, all 3 axes are controllable. However, the 'following error' occurs randomly in NI MAX interactive.

What do you mean by randomly? Is it only when you're commanding a move in the interactive test panel? Have you tried running any LabVIEW examples?

I meant that some days the following errror occurs and some days do not with the same set up in NI MAX. I tried a sample VI and no error occurs so far.
Does NI provide any other docs for the set up ?
