Control 3 stepper motors with labview and NI .

Hello

I'm an engineer student ; and I want to control 3 stepper motors  for moving along (x , y , z) three axis  with labview and NI hardware .

I haven't no idea about NI product.

I ask for what kind of hardware that should I have to accomplish this project. (this my graduation's project)

after researchs ,I found that I should have a stepper motor driver and motion controller.  Is that enough for this project ? I found MID-7604 as stepper driver for 4 axis . what does it mean 4 axis ? IS it for 4 steppers ?    I found also PCIxxx /PLX  but i don't understand what is this .

Thanks for  your responses .

Hello we basically have to product lines for motion control, one of them being softmotion which is based on cRIO devices, or NI-Motion which is based on the PXI and PCI boards. You mentioned that you have no idea with NI products, so I pressume you have no experience with the RIO platform which could be a big issue. In which case you  could use a motion board like the PCI-7334

in which case you would also need an UMI to connect to the board, and the drive to control the stepper motors, in case you don't happen to have one.

I'd recommend you contact one of our engineers to advice you with this, by phone or email:

Depending on your needs the PCI-7334 could be sufficient for your what you need here, but we could advice you better through that channel of communication.

Cheers,
