Can anyone point out where I can find a document that covers the Pros and Cons of various software off

erings and their scope? NI-DAQ, ComponentWorks, ComponentWorks++, VISA, LabWindows/CVI libraries, IVI, etc. There are many options which is great but it makes it difficult to know where to begin to identify what is most appropriate for a given situation.

NI-DAQ, ComponentWorks, ComponentWorks++, VISA, LabWindows/CVI libraries, IVI, etc. There are many options which is great but it makes it difficult to know where to begin to identify what is most appropriate for a given situation.Measurement Studio includes all the software you listed above. ComponentWorks, ComponentWorks++, and LabWindows/CVI all provide similar programming tools for different languages (VB, VC++, and ANSI C respectively). They have libraries for T&M style user interfaces, network publishing, instrument control, and analysis. You can read about Measurement Studio here: http://www.ni.com/mstudio. You need Measurement Studio if you are a ANSI C, Visual C++, or Visual Basic developer and want to develop test and measurement applications quickly. The other things you listed (NI-DAQ, VISA, and IVI) are driver libraries for data acquisition and instrument control. NI-DAQ comes free with all of our data acquisition products and VISA and IVI libraries and instrument dr
ivers come with Measurement Studio.
