Can I create a simulated device outside of the MAX interface?

Is it possible to create simulated devices outside of the MAX user interface? How are simulated devices stored? Can they be created by editing a file...?

I need to do unit testing on our software as part of our build / deployment process and it is not practical to manually go through the MAX user interface.

Hi,

It is not possible to create a simulated device without going through MAX.  There is another forum post which asks a similar question.

The simulated device files are imbedded in the actual program and there is not a specific file you can create/edit.  One thing you could try is creating all of the simulated devices in MAX and then programatically selecting which devices and tasks you want to use in LabVIEW.
