does VB == BASIC?

Is the 'Basic' in VB the same as the BASIC programming language?

Thanks!

Re: does VB == BASIC?

Hello TurboMetrologist,

Although Visual Basic (VB) was derived from BASIC, the two languages are drastically different.  For more information see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_Basic

Re: does VB == BASIC?

VB stands for Visual Basic and it is derived from the BASIC language. It is also very similar to VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) which is the language used for programming macros in MS Word, Excel and Access.
