package load failure

When upgrading Measurement Studio for VS2005 from version 8.1 to the latest 8.1.1, I  receive an error that states Microsoft Visual Studio has encountered a problem and needs to close (see attached visual studio problem.jpg).  It gives you an option to send/don't send and a checkbox to restart visual studio.  I uncheck the restart box and click on the don't send button.

This error occurs 4 times,during parts 16, 18, 68 of the device drivers and finally during the integration phase.

A result of this (I assume), I get a package load failure error (see attached load failure.jpg).

I tried removing 8.1 completely but that caused a BSOD (7B) error on restart so I had to re-image the PC.

How can I fix this probelm?

I have manged to achieve a workaround for the package load failure.

After installing all the software, including the drivers, immediately go to set program access and defaults.

Scroll down the add programs to National Instruments Software and click on change/remove.

Select NI Measurement Studio 8.1 Enterprise Edition (mine is the enterprise edition)  and then select repair.

After the repair is complete, my package problems went away.
