connecting SCXI-1000 to Toshiba Satellite P775 notebook

I have a SCXI-100 based NI system that works perfect on all of my Windows XP notebooks. I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite P773 notebook equipped with an I7 processor, Windows 7 and NIDAQ version 9.5.5.  NIMAX doesn't recognise the SCXI unit on this notebook (not even after 'refresh'). Does anyone have experience with this? Is this problem due to Windows 7 or to the Toshiba notebook? How can I solve it?

Hello pb2,

Can you give some more information about the set-up you're using?

With this I mean a description of all the Modules inside the chassis and in which slot they reside.

Are you using the SCXI-1000 chassis?

How are you connecting with the chassis?

Re: connecting SCXI-1000 to Toshiba Satellite P775 notebook

Hello Thierry,

I am using a SCXI-1600 unit connected to the USB port, with an SCXI-1120 analog unit and an SCXI-1161 switching unit. I am using Windows 7, 64 bit.

In the meantime, after spending considerable time searching the web, I am very disappointed to learn that NI decided not to develop any 64 bit drivers for the SCXI-1600. This means that none of the 7 SCXI units we have can ever be used on our new Windows 7, 64 bit computers.

Can NI offer any 64 bit solutions replacing the SCXI-1600 unit?

Thanks,

Peteralv Brabers

Hello Peteralv,

Maybe it could be a good idea if you call into our offices and talk with one of my sales colleagues to explain the current situation.

If you prefer that they call you back, then you can also provide me with your number/e-mail (through private message), so that I can ask the right people to  call you back.

Kind Regards,
