Slower performance when zoomed in

We have a NI Plot component showing an area graph. We've found that zooming in on the plot a few times dramatically increases the time it takes to render the plot. Some performance analysis shows that most of the CPU time is spent in the rendering thread and not the UI thread.

Are there any recommendations for lowering the amount of time spent rendering?

Hey Joshua,

Could you specify what kind of plot you're using?  The forum thread linked below gives an explanation as to why a WPF vector plot may take much longer to render when zoomed in.  Does this seem relevant to your situation?
