NI-Vision viewer causing deactivation of main form?

After dropping a NI-Vision V8.0 CWIMAQ.Viewer Active-X control (MS VC 2003, .Net, C#) into a top level  window the application now starts in the background (deactivated) upon running.  Is there a way to solve this program?

If you drop any other CWIMAQ control or a CWGRAPH control on the top level window, does it cause the same problem?

No, I can drag the CWIMAQVision control into the form without this problem occuring.
