Measurement Studio .Net control disappears

Hi,

I have been working on a VB.Net program for several days now with no problems.  Today when I opened the solution, all of the Measurement Studio .Net controls have disappeared from the forms.  I am able to create new forms and add MS .Net controls without any issues.  I am using version 7.10.

Has anyone seen this before or know how to resolve it?

Hi Mark,

1. Did all the controls dissappear, or just the Measurement Studio controls?
2. Is this a recurring issue?
3. Can you try opening the individual form, instead of the solution?

Of course, the most likely reason is that somehow the form did not get saved correctly.

The answers to your questions are:

Only the Measurement Studio controls have ever disappeared.

2. Is this a recurring issue?

Yes, it has happened about six different times with different solutions.  Sometimes if I close the solution without saving it, close VS and then restart VS and reopen the solution, the controls will be present.  It once took 4 iterations of that sequence to get the controls to return!  I have received the hotfix KB842706 from Microsoft, but have not applied it yet.  The "Copy Local" property for the Measurement Studio references is set to "False" when the controls are missing.

3. Can you try opening the individual form, instead of the solution?

Yes, I will try that the next time it occurs.
