Getting the error "Fatal Error. Failed to open handle for \\...\...\...\MS80\support\merged.bin. when installing Measurement Studio 8.0

Hi,

I am getting the following error when trying to install Measurement Studio 8.0 from our network:

"Fatal Error. Failed to open handle for \\...\...\...\MS80\support\merged.bin.

I checked. The file merged.bin is in \MS80\support dir. What goes wrong? Any ideas?

Hi wwl,

Are you able to run this installer off your local hard drive?

Is that the exact error message that you received? The error shows a \\... (i.e. 3 dots) which is very odd so I was wondering if you just copied and pasted the error or re-typed the error?

Could you post the error log for the installer? Find how to do this in the Creating a Error Log File for a Software Installation KnowledgeBase.
