IMAQdx setting exposure manually works wrong

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

i am using MAX Version 4.6.0f1 and want to integrate our camera as NI-IMAQdx Device.

It works good except, when i am changing exposure manually.

When i write 0.125 (seconds) , the MAX should send -3  (2exp(-3)==0.125) to the

IAMCameraControl-Interface of my Capture-Filter.

But i get -2 from the Max software. Is this a bug?

Thanks in advance.

Hi net_dev,

On some quick investigation, it appears you are correct. I believe IMAQdx is incorrectly using a natural log function instead of base 2 log.

I have filed CAR 200481 for tracking this bug if you need to reference it. Note that this bug only affects DirectShow (usually USB) cameras---no other cameras types use this interface.

Thanks,

Eric

This bug still seems to be present, at least in the software version I am using (Labview 2009, VDM 2009). Is there a workaround, or a hope of a fix? At the moment I am having to use separate software just to control exposure...

This was reported fixed in IMAQdx 3.6 back in 2010.

Thank you for the reply. I did not realise until now that later versions of VAS were compatible with Labview 2009 (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/808663CDBB335A9E86257D430001A980).
