IMAQ 14.5 with LabView August 2014

Solved!

Hello,

I work in IT for the University of Arizona and I'm having an issue with a computer that we have deployed. The system has LabVIEW August 2014 installed, but they requested I install the IMAQ 14.5 version on the system. I did this and it now does not show the complete pallete for the Vision Acquisition software. I don't typically deal with LabVIEW other than installing it so I'm not familiar with the way things are supposed to work. At one point they received an error message that stated "Measurement & Automation Explorer or the Instrument I/O Assistant is not installed correctly. Please install these from the LabVIEW Driver CD.", I then installed these from the driver CD and I think the error message went away but the pallete is still incomplete. Would having the 2015 version of the IMAQ cause the pallete to be incomplete on the August 2014 version of LabVIEW? Thank you for your time. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey!

First to answer your questions:

IMAQ is not installed as a stand alone driver. It is part of the NI Vision Acquisition Software.

What Versions of NI-IMAQ, NI-IMAQdx, and NI-IMAQ I/O Come with My Version of Vision Acquisition Software?

Installing the Vision Acquisition Software 2015 should work fine with LabVIEW August 2014.

Recommendation:

Install this to clean/overwrite any possible missinstallation:

NI Vision Acquisition Software September 2016

Note: Make sure during the installation wizard to select the appropiate support for the LabVIEW version that you are using. In the wizard there will be a section to select which LabVIEW versions support are you installing.

Best.

Daniel Cabezas.
