How to accurately find the edge and ignore the reflective spots

I hane a project  must accurately find the edge, then calculate the edge to another edge's distance, Now contrast inconsistent because of material difference, some picture have reflective spots, I want to know

1.  Is there a way to filter out the reflective spots

2.  Is there a way to dynamically adjust according to the current pictures to find the edge of the grey value, improve the accuracy of the find edge

Can you explain which edges are you trying to find out?
