Edmund Optics USB camera - Returning delayed image - Solution ActiveX driver?

Hi all,

We have a couple of high resolution USB cameras from Edmund Optics. We are using the Free NI driver for IMAQ but find that the image acquired is a couple of seconds old. We tried the Ivision from Hytek and still have the same delay. Both drivers use Direct Show if I remember correctly. The image is returned quickly but it shows what happened about 2 seconds ago. Any ideas?

We are now considering using the ActiveX component that came with the camera to avoid this delayed image issue. But this will involve a fair bit of work - Has anyone got any experience of the Edmund Optics ActiveX driver, or better still some LabVIEW VIs that wrap them up?

TIA

Hi,
When you say high resolution, what is the resolution you are acquiring at? It will have to be a very high resolution for it to be delayed for 2 seconds. Are you using USB 1.0 or 2.0? Also, I assume you are using Labview to acquire these images, would it be possible to post your vi?
