When will MatrixX (SystemBuild) merge with Labview ?

Both MatrixX and Labviews famillies have overalpping features. Will those merge eventually into a single product line ? If yes, what is the plan ?

NI is committed to the MATRIXx product line and will provide MATRIXx users with comprehensive, long-term service and support. We have established an R&D facility in Mountain View, California to continue developing this software line. We intend to integrate MATRIXx with LabVIEW and our other NI products as part of our long-term strategy to supply engineering development tools for automated measurement and control applications.

MATRIXx contains differentiated, leading-edge technology in control design, system modeling and automatic code generation. We are investigating ways that we can bring this technology to our LabVIEW users while continuing to work with existing MATRIXx customers, systems integrators and industry experts to further enhance the MATRIXx prod
uct and expand its use into more applications and industries.

We intend to release new versions of MATRIXx with the NI badge, incorporating bug fixes and tested and verified under the latest operating systems. We are investigating ways that MATRIXx users can take advantage of extensive capabilities of LabVIEW and NI hardware. This includes things such as creating GUIs for interactive simulation and to make it easy to target NI hardware, including real-time PXI with AutoCode, in the future.

While you are waiting, I understand you can build real-time and distributed real-time systems which are autocode generated from MatrixX/SystemBuild and incorporating LabView graphics using Opal-RT's RT-LAB: See <>. AIUI Opal-RT is a member of NI's Alliance Program.
