I recently added a new rtu to my opc server, it worked fine for a while and then it stopped with ‘bad quality’ for each value in the quick client under the rtu data points. It shows good quality for all items under the ‘rtu_system’ .
It started working again after a few days and stopped when I power cycled the RTU.
I can ping it with no packet loss
I have two rtu’s on the opc server, the other one is working fine, and I can find no configuration differences between the two.

I deleted the OPC device in the server and rebuilt it, same problem.
I found if I go into properties and disable data collection, wait about 5 minutes then re-enable it, it will come back with good data, I have to wait a period of time before I re-enable it, otherwise it will be bad. Once it is working it continues to work until a prolonged interruption in communications.
If I disconnect the Ethernet cable and wait a few minutes, then reconnect it, it will come back with bad data, if I reconnect it within 60 seconds, it will come back with good data.
It is definitely a timing issue, but where?
