Lookout 3.8 Easy way to copy tag...

While it is easy to copy text tags, there doesn't seem to be a way to
copy the tag to another one and give it a different name without having
to reenter all properties again.

thanks,
Robert

If you wish to copy and paste objects in Lookout 3.8 the best way I have found is to access the script file (.lks) using a text editor. I find the best freeware text editor for this is Notetab Light: http://www.notetab.com/ . Here is the download page: http://www.notetab.com/download.htm#ntl.

Use the Find to find the tag name of the object you wish to copy. The definition of that object ends at the semicolon. Copy the name and the definition up to the semicolon. Now paste it in another receiving lks file or the same lks file. All you need to do now is rename the tag just before the "=" sign. Now you have a new named object with all the paramters filled in.

Compile using clb.exe
