Logging an ASCII signal to Excel through Lookout

The ascii2 is the one for length. Ascii1 is for the weight.

Ok. I will try this first thing tomorrow morning when I can get back to the PC out on the line. I hope it works!

Thanks again

Well Mike,

I set the ascii2 response format to "M%f" and it accepted the connection. Then I made the display show the value of ascii2.RSV1 instead of ascii2.response. The first signal recieved shows a 3.00 and then it stays at that value even though more signals should be coming in. (Quick note: I am measuring the length of pipe which are all in the range of 30 feet, so I'm not sure if it is stopping at the first digit and actually updating to the next signal or not. They will all start with 3x.xx) It logs the same- a 3 in every cell. Does this tell you anything?

Thanks again.

What is the meaning of the "M%f" designation? Are there other response formats like this that yield a different response? Is there a table of these formats somewhere? I couldn't find anything on the Lookout help file.

Thanks.
