After a network breakdown the data from fieldpoint are not updated

After a network breakdown between the LookOut-server and the fieldpoint1600
module is ok again. The data from the fieldpoint module is not updated in
lookout until the values changes in the fieldpoint module. I have tried to
use the poll-datamember of the fieldpoint-object, but this doesn't seem to
work.
The data changes very seldom, and I would like to keep network traffic at
minimum, so I wouldn't like to have to enable polling all the time through
the .iak file.
Any good ideas on how to solve this one?

Thanks.

Jorgen,

The communications protocol that the FP-1600 uses is event driven and only sends data on change so enabling polling does nothing (only works for the serial modules). The protocol is designed such that when a client first connects to a FP-1600, it receives the initial data on all of the subscribed channels, and then only the changes when the readings change. During a loss of communication, when a client re-connects to the FP-1600, it should automatically get the most recent data and be re-synchronized with the readings. If you are not getting the changed data, there may be an error in how you are accessing the data, or in the driver layers. How are you having Lookout communicate with the FP-1600 (3 ways; fpoint.cbx, OPCFieldPoint or the registered computer method)?

Aaron
