I'm new to Linux generally and LV for Linux as well.
A customer has asked if we can port a portable measurement system to Linux. The measurement system consists of a laptop with a NI PXI-ExpressCard8360 connected to a PXI-1036 six-slot chassis. It uses a 4065 DMM, 5412 FGEN, and a 6115 for analog I/O.
I've found some information about NI-DMM, NI-FGEN and NI-DAQmx base and the versions supported on Linux.
- NI-DMM 2.5 supports a PXI-4070 but not the 4065. Are there any USB DMMs that can be used with Linux?
- NI-FGEN 2.4 supports the 5412.
- Various versions of DAQmx base support the 6115.
It's not clear to me if the ExpressCard8360 requires a driver, or if it is somehow handled by the hardware or OS, so that the PXI devices appear to the OS.
Has anyone used an ExpressCard8360 with Linux on a laptop? If so, are there caviats?
Thanks for any information!
Matt
