multibyte character problem

Hello,

I can not see some of the Kazakh characters to CVI 2012. I applied for Kazakh this link: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/3E8A86DB1B7A4EC886257909005808EC but the characters didn't display. Characters which can not be displayed  are shown ,with a red box in the appendix. Please can you help me ?

Hi Dcicek,

I did not have your desired language installed on my machine so I am working on this now. I did however switch my language successfully but the number keys did not switch over and they should. I am going to look into if there is something with CVI that prevents this. Do those keys work in other applications such as word or notepad? Also what windows operating system are you working in?

Hi Haagen-Dazs,

I would firstly like to thank you for your interest.I've tried a lot of methods to solve the problem, but I've failed. Characters can also be seen in word and notepad but doesn't seen in CVI. I tried it in Windows 7 and XP. As a result of my research I found a this: http://www.eki.ee/wgrs/wgr06_9.htm . I'm using this method now, but I would like to know is if you find a solution.

Hi Dcicek,

In general our solution is the one outlined by the knowledgebase article you referenced in your previous post. I am in the process of looking into an alternative solution and will post back as soon as I know what to do.

Hi Dcicek,

Unfortunately, at this point the LabWindows/CVI environment does not support unicode which is required for this character set. In addition, there is no work around to make those characters work, but I do recommend posting on the idea exchange linked below with an product requests.
