I may have asked this before but I need to confirm now. From my WinNt workstation how amny machines can I open TCP pipes to? How about from win 2000 workstation? How about the servers of these two?

From CVI function panel help for ConnectToTCPServer,

On Windows 95/NT you can have up to 1024 connections. If you exceed this
limit, -kTCP_TooManyConversations will be returned. You may not be able to
open the maximum number of connections allowed by LabWindows/CVI because of
limitations imposed by the operating system.

Vishi, is that 1024 ports no matter how many machines? And is that Server or workstation or both?

Not sure, as I haven't tried it myself.

If I am correct you want to know how many simulateneous TCP connections you
can open from 1 machine? Isn't it? It will be limited by the OS. Maybe NI
can confirm the actual number.

I remeber some yrs back, I was opening 48 telnet sessions from sun machine
and run into problem where OS won't allow it.
