VI Logger / NIMAX locks up with RDA task

[pn2500]

running NI Max 2.2 and NIDaq 6.9.1f28, Win2k SP3 client, Win98SE SDA server,
VI Logger 1.0, DAQPad-MIO-16xe-50 parallel port acq on server,

client NIMax selftest panel of remote SDA hardware runs ok,
set up VI Logger task, hardware i.d. shows up in select box,
but when hit start log button, then client NIMax locks up CPU at 100%
and have to kill it.

should work, right????
