UIR during debugging

Simple question. How do I look at my UIR while debugging my CVI code. Since GUI runs in same thread as main program, when I hit the breakpoint, the UIR updates stop so if I can't look at state of controls on my GUI. Is there anything simple I can do where I can get GUI state (till the moment I hit my breakpoint).
