String control frame thickness

Is it possible to change the frame thickness of the string control?
I want to display a string without the recessed frame.
Thanks.

Sure.
You can paint it in transparent in the UIR editor or you can modify it programmatically with the ATTR_FRAME_COLOR attribute of the string control.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

There's only one caveat: you can change the frame color of a classic-style string (CTRL_STRING) but you cannot change the frame color of a lab-style string (CTRL_STRING_LS). But since the goal here is to hide the frame, and those two control styles only differ in their frame, there's no reason not to use the classic-style string.

Hi everyone,

You can also use a simple "text message" (next to the text box in the menu) instead of a text box and change the background color to the one you need. You'll have no frame at all.
