Runtime engine download

I just updated a little project from CVI 5.5 to 6.0 and the installation files (with the runtime
engine included) jumped from about 1Mb to 6Mb.
Questions:

- is it possible to exclude all the stuff off the runtime engine that is not necessary (I already
disabled many of the options in the installer setup) ?

- is it possible to separate the program itself from the runtime engine and distribute the runtime
engine separately ? It used to be possible but I can't find it for download on ni.com

Hello,

It is possible to exclude stuff from the installer. You can set everything to "install never". You can also uncheck everything to make the install as minimal as possible.

You can also install the runtime separately. You can deselect it from the distribution kit dialog and install it from here:

I hope I helped,

Hello Guillaume,

Yes, we do still offer all of the Labwindows/CVI run-time engines free for download at our public website. From www.ni.com/support, choose "Drivers and Updates" under option 3, then "All Software Versions", then "Labwindows/CVI". I am including a link below for your convenience:

It sounds like you are already aware of how to exclude unnecessary run-time options during installation. A way to decrease the size of an executable in is to make sure when you build, to disable debugging. This will decrease the size of the file and speed up the execution.

I hope that this is helpful. Take care and have a great day!

Thanks to both of you.
I'd searched both on google with site:ni.com and using ni.com search mechanism but I couldn't find
it. Either I don't know the proper incantations or the search system of NI is not very good, it
took me 15 minutes to find the latest NIDAQ download...
