I can drag and drop any file into the CVI editor and it will open it, including binary files. But if I add a file with an unrecognized extension to my project (like CPP) and then try to open it, Windows asks what application to use to open the file. I tried selecting CVI, but that just opens a second instance of CVI. I would prefer for the file to open in the editor in the existing instance of CVI.
Is there a setting somewhere I can tick that tells CVI to open a project file in the editor in the existing instance even if it doesn't recognize the extension?
