First I recommend you to disable the firewall and antivirus and if you are still having problems then you might install the latest version of the NI update service.
I tried updating the update service, but it told me I was using a newer version. I ended up removing all installed components and am in the midst of reinstalling everything now.
I am using LabView 2012.
Will let you know how the new install works out for me.
