I did some searching about this on Google, and it seems that it is a protocol that some LAN cards (and motherboards) support that understands any protocol you send to it (UDP, TCP/IP, TelNet, etc) and sends these to a higher level protocol that knows how to understand them. That's the most information I could find on it, but you may have better luck posting in another online forum about this.
