Logical name of instrument

 How can i get the logical name of an instrument (lets say i am using hp34401a), ?

because right now if i am calling function initwithoption in the function then it is not giving me proper logical name(in Simulation mode) and going into error check.

Logical names are not something you get from the instrument. It is a name which you assign to the instrument.

You can do this over NI MAX. If you dont know much about how to do it, look into the NI MAX documentation. That is not a quick issue to cover in this post.
