The portion of the registry that you are modifying is used only for 64-bit programs. Are you running a 64-bit version of your program? If not, try editing the following location instead:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\National Instruments\CVI Run-Time Engine\cvirte
