CVI 7 distribution kit

Some options were provided by the CVI 5.5 distribution kit as:
- what to do if the files already exist on the client (erase, don't, ask) ?
- to specify a version and an icon attached to the .exe
I can't find any of these in version 7.
How can this be done ?

Hello,

For question 1, this is handled with MSI rules. We will not install over a version that is the same. If you change the GUID in the distribution you can install Side by side to a new location. There are not other choices, the customer must uninstall an older version of the same distribution before installing a newer version.

There are ways to get around the limitation above by editing the MSI post build and batch files that are run instead of setup.exe.

For question 2, this is now handled outside the distribution. It happens in the Target settings for the project.
