CVI 7.0 local license issue

Hi,

I am having trouble activating CVI 7.0 with a local license.

I already have CVI 2012 activated on my PC with a site license.

The license manager doesn't "see" the CVI 7.0 installation.

I'm working on a legacy product that requires the CVI 7.0 IDE.

Thanks,

Scott

I would assume that the license manager was invented much later than CVI 7.0 and thus CVI7.0 will not know what to do with the LM and vice verse... If I remember correctly at that time I only had one printed license key.

Anjelica from NI informed me that 1) CVI 7.0 does require the license manager and 2) the license file needed to be "CVI_FDS_PKG_070000.lic" instead of "CVI_FDS_070000.lic" for the license manager to see it.  The latter is what the CVI 7.0 install CD created.  So I renamed the file to the new filename, then in License Manager I ran Options->Install License File and selected the new filename.  Then CVI 7.0 was displayed in the license manager.  After that I just had to activate the license and everything ran fine.

Hope that helps someone else trying to run multiple CVI versions.

Scott
