CVI 7.0 + TestStand 3.0 PC requirements

We have decided to upgrade our LabWindows 5.5 to 7.0 and TS from 2.0
to 3.0.
We also add LabView (7.0) for the first time.

From your experience, what is the minimum PC requirement to run a
project using all three progrmas in a reasonable manner?

Will a Run-Time version of the project need a less powerful PC?

Thanks

Rafi,

This information is found in the TestStand release notes, which I have pasted below:

To run TestStand 3.0, National Instruments recommends that your system meet the following requirements:
Windows 2000/XP/98 or Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a or later (the TestStand User Interface Controls are not supported in Windows 98)
400 MHz Pentium class microprocessor (266 MHz minimum)
128 MB of memory (64 MB minimum)
500 MB of free hard disk space (100 MB minimum)
SVGA resolution or higher video adapter, with a minimum 800 × 600 video resolution for small fonts or a minimum 1024 × 768 for large fonts
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later (5.5 or later required)

TestStand 3.0 is compatible with the following National Instruments applica
tion development environments (ADEs):
LabVIEW 6.1 or later (LabVIEW 7.0 or later is required to use the TestStand User Interface Controls)
LabWindows/CVI 6.0 or later (LabWindows/CVI 7.0 or later is recommended for use with the TestStand User Interface Controls)
Measurement Studio 7.0 (or later) Enterprise Edition is required for integration with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 or later

TestStand has more requirements that LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI. These are the minimum requirements to run TestStand, and as with any software product, the better the PC, the better your application software will run.

The Run-time versions of the products do not change the minimum system requirements. This is because the components of the software which have these set minimums are still necessary for run-time execution.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

What is 400 MHz pentium calss? Are we talking FSB speed or processor speed?

I assume is FSB as I interpeter your answere. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you.

Rafi,

These are the minimum system requirements, not an exact specification. The 400 MHz Pentium class microprocessor is a recommended minimum and refers to your processor speed.

If you are still have questions about the minimum hardware requirements, feel free to post again. Please let us know what your specific concerns are.
