waveform subtraction

Can anyone teach me how to subtract waveform? eg waveform a - waveform b = waveform c. If anyone has any eg, do attach to show me. Many thanks

Hi

Just use the simple subtraction operation from the numerical palette.

Hello,

Open a blank VI, go to "Help" >> "Find examples..." and search for "waveforms" there is an example VI named "Add waveforms example.vi"
I think this is what you need 😉

I forget to mention that my waveform is accquire from ai. Which mean my data is from daq card. And I'm using labview 6i to program. Do you have any idea how should go abt doing. I have attach a pic file for your reference.Kindly advise. My waveform chart 2 consist of 2 component, which is red + background light waveform. Now I want is to subtract away the background light to get red only.

... I'm sorry but I'm not sure I understand what you are tring to do... from the picture of the code you posted I see that you put exactly the same data in waveform 1 and 2...
What data do you want to put in waveform 1, and which other in waveform 2 ?

Could you also post your VI, that would help 😉

Sorry for the confusion. There is only one waveform chart now. This waveform capture signal from my i/p (AO) comprises red light and background light. However I want to subtract background light from the two, and just to see red waveform. Hope you understand.Attach is my LV and a pic file on what I want. Hope it can enable you to help me.
