Well, that was just an example. You can easily modify it to read PNG and BMP as well. If you want OpenG has a VI that reads a file directly into a picture.
As for the resizing, you can use the "classic" picture control, make it transparent and use it to cover the entire FP. Then, keep the "size" or your FP in your text file and ignore clicks outside that area.
