stability of systems

this question is regarding the stability of systems.vi in the examples section of labview 8.6

i could not figure out the logic behind the use of this(see the attached image file) block. also once i remove it and make it again, it does not work.

All that control does is generate the axes for the plot.  The first plot is a unit circle and the next two are the coordinate axes.  There shouldn't be a problem if you remove it, as long as you also remove the corresponding terminal from the Build Array primitive.  No real need to though.
