Hello Jeff, the document you mentioned has been updated.  This document is really only a workaround to prevent the RT system from haulting upon deployment.  It is not necessary to have two copies of the variables in the project for the variables to work.  Hope this helps!

Hi. In my case (same problem), I disconnected type definition for some Shared Variables (custom). Than I recompiled and rebuild.
