save Smith Chart to JPG

Solved!
Go to solution

I am using the Smith Multi Plot VI in LabVIEW 6.1

There is an Get Image Invoke Node for the picture plot.

I am not sure if this is what I should be using or am I going down the wrong path.

I want to save that image to the hard drive as a JPG file.

Use that property node and then the Write JPEG File.vi under the Graphics and Sound >> Graphics Format palette.

Wow. That was easy. I thought I needed the Picture to Pixmap VI which isn't available in LabVIEW 6.1

Thanks.

Is jpg format a hard specification?

Jpeg is not well suited for cartoonish images with sharp lines and hard edges, because you'll get significant compression artifacts. PNG is typically a better choice.

Tried both and PNG is definitely better.

Thanks.
