One hint that will let you know the file is too large for the read from spreadsheet function.

If you can read a small file OK but when you point at a large file you get an "invalid ....???? " (memory fails me) the read from spreadsheet functions are failing becuase the file size exceeds the I32 file size that the spreadsheet functions support.

Just don't get side-tracked thinking the path suddenly is invalid. To read more the I32 byte count the sub-VIs will ahve to be rewritten to support 64 bit offsets.
